How to Take Care of the Elderly to be saved from the Covid-19
The elderly is the most at-risk group to be endangered by the Covid-19 as their immunity deteriorates, especially those who have congenital diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. We have 5 techniques of how to take care of the elderly to you as follows:
1. Food
Food is the heart of elderly care. It should be freshly cooked, clean and hygienic with high protein to boost immunity, and it should not be too salty or sweet.
2. Emotion
Try to accompany them to make them happy in order to prevent them from feeling lonely or isolated. You should ensure that they have some activity to do and that they are not doing it alone. Joining activities together will make them proud of themselves, and they should not be exposed to too much news because it can cause stress.
3. Exercise
Although we should not exercise outside our home right now, the elderly who is living at home should exercise or move their body regularly to maintain their strength, such as walk inside their home area, quickly tap their feet in the same place and sway arms can prevent physical deterioration during they are at home.
4. Rest
Sleeping is an important thing to boost immunity for the body. The elderly, therefore, should have sufficient sleep of 7 – 9 hours per day by going to bed at 9 PM because if they sleep before 9 PM, they may wake up earlier than usual.
5. Social Distancing
Social distancing is the heart of preventing the Covid-19 pandemic, hence, the elderly should avoid going out of their home, if it is not necessary, to decrease the opportunity to get infected by the coronavirus. If you need to go outside, wearing mask and using sanitizer are required.
We should seriously help each other to take care of the elderly during the Covid-19 to protect them from the dangerous disease that is widely spread, in order for them to have a long life and happiness. If they have unusual symptoms, namely, high temperature, coughing, sneezing or hard breathing, they should be taken to see doctors immediately.
